Skiing was fabulous today on Mt. Hood in Oregon. I was the only one up this high on the Mt. this morning. Tons of snow here and Summer Skiing will be good for sure. The upper lift is only open for the summer months for training.....they will be starting to dig out soon. Last year they opened it up for the second 1/2 of May, I'm hoping they do it again this year. Time will tell.

yes it is Timberline Biker395. Here is a photo from the Mile High chair lift heading up to The Palmer Glacier . This week the Lodge is celebrating it's 75 year birthday and lift tickets are $19.47 all week to commemorate the opening on Mt. Hood in 1947. The 2nd chair lift in the United States was built here where I took this photo below, of course it is a high speed version these days.

Somewhere around Cambria …reef/beach break, needs at least a head high swell to break with med/low tide. Empty line up.
Yesterday local guy as I waited for the sun to set.


This morning has some storm clouds moving in. Surf dropped to knee-shoulder high.

yes it is Timberline Biker395. Here is a photo from the Mile High chair lift heading up to The Palmer Glacier . The 2nd chair lift in the United States was built here where I took this photo below, of course it is a high speed version these days.

Skied there in a blinding snowstorm once. It was fab.

I've also been nightskiing at Mt. Hood Meadows. It was so cold, I could only ski for a couple of runs before I came in for an Irish Coffee. Did that 4-5 times, and myself too drunk to ski and too zapped to sleep. Good thing I didn't need to drive.

On my last trip back from Mammoth I stopped by the Mindinburo Ranch in Round Valley and picked up a load of Honey Locust for Musty Putters in Signal Hill. The wood had caught Musty's eye because of how brilliant yellow it was. Musty made this putter out of the Honey Locust for my gf's son for bringing down the wood. I think it's pretty cool just cuz the wood came from Round Valley.

Thanks, I really just posted that because the wood came from Round Valley. The locals have several different names for this real yellow type of locust. I'm curious what ws calls it?
