They didn't have to offer that $50 bonus at all -- very nice that they did I think. Maybe Rusty does things like this just to stir up the Forum and give people something to talk about...and talk about...and talk about.

So you're saying it's OK for them to "kinda" give you the passcash and then take it away from those who have a carryover balance, but those who start with a zero balance can take full advantage of the bonus?

It isn't right to "package" an incentive or bonus for next seasons pass when you know good and well that you won't have to come through with it for well over 50% of the passes sold. Even the Sheet didn't get this info when they printed this bonus.
If it was truly a thank you it would be just like any other cash on your pass. Its a lure to get you back up before Sept. And with the price of gas it won't make anybody come up that wasn't anyway. But it does make a good sales headline. None of this has anything to do with the pass being a good deal or not. Its just about the way the strings are attached.

Agreed. But that's why I think they should just offer a pass without all the BS perks, no BAF, no Early Up....
Just a pass that let's you ride the lifts from 8:30 - 4:00. 99.9% of the resorts in North America has that type of pass. Or offer up a midweek M-F pass. I don't care if I'm a loyal passholder or not

I got my pass today, also. Yep. Paid the $20 to protect my investment. Paid another $5 to benefit the town that has really taken a beating this year. Maybe that's the best protection on an investment that there is.

I wrote to MM and the response regarding pass cash balances is this:

The deadline for using the 50 dollar reward pass cash is 9/30/2012. The system has a way of recognizing the two types of pass cash and will automatically pull from the reward pass cash first. Any remaining balance from the 50 will disappear on 9/30/2012 and the pass cash you paid for would stay untouched.

Has anyone thought about paying for a non-pass holder's stuff with their pass cash bonus in exchange for CASH???
Let's get creative and enjoy a good thing!

That makes sense... I'll bet the person telling eek that he had to use 100% of the bonus, didn't quite get how it worked.
