bus lines to lake tahoe?

hey guys, new to the whole area. i was wondering, is there any bus service that would take me to lake tahoe by any chance? or a shuttle service to a car rental place?

im going to be in mammoth and am not gonna have a ride. i was planning on getting up to squaw valley to see a good friend of mine. is this going to be impossible?

Not really. You might contact some of the taxi services (Mammoth Shuttle does out of area runs exclusively) from the link below and see what they charge. I'm sure it would be a hefty fare.

Eastern Sierra transit can get you from Mammoth to either Carson City or Reno. From there it shouldn't be very hard to get to Tahoe. Good luck...

Of course, great idea OGT! That would get the OP closer to his destination then there's a slew of ground transportation from Reno to Tahoe.

@ WilliamBalch, keep in mind that CREST round trips between Bishop & Reno are offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday only.

I know if you can get to Reno Airport there are busses going to the casino's all day long.

i would want to go to squaw any time between the dates of 3/13-3/18. i am trying to think of possible situations. i would want to stay over night or 2 possibly

thanks guys! you're all awesome :) i think my best bet is to go to carson city and rent a car from there. im gonna need it for a couple days.

What is the best transport option from Reno airport to South Lake Tahoe? I would assume it's this, $49 per person round trip, but maybe others know better.
