Freestyle lessons...

Postby OzzyBuckeyeBluechip » Thu Dec 01, 2011 9:46 pm

Hey all...My soon-to-be 12 year old son wants to get some good freestyle lessons. His 46-year-old Dad (yeah...me) wants to as well. Are there some good instructors that can teach two expert skiers some beginner freestyle stuff? We're tired of the folks making it look easy out there! Thanks.

Our trained and certified snowboard school can teach new tricks and first tricks, they're a great resource to start with! http://www.mammothmountain.com/MountainActivities/SkiandSnowboardSchool/PrivateLessons/

^^^Um, yeah, thanks. I knew that part already, but was just hoping anyone had some suggestions on a good instructor. For the price of lessons, I'm not very keen on "the luck of the draw".

Actually, I may be able to help you...

When I first moved here I wanted to get better at spinining off of jumps and hitting more agressive boxes/rails. I worked for the MTN at the time and got a great deal on privates. They assigned me to a level 3 snowboard instructor. His name was Dustin. Within a day I was VERY happy with my progression.

I would highly recomend him.

If he is not available, one of my very good friends up here is also a level 3 and is an incredible park instructor. His name is Dan.

They both work out of Main Lodge, and last time I checked you can book privates in advance through the 800number. (I could be wrong though)

I do not want to disclose any last names without their premission, so please PM me if you need additional information.

Sorry, did not realize you were a skier until I read further into your post.

My buddy is a supervisor for ski school and although I do not know any names off the top of my head, I will ask him who is the best for what you are looking for.

Send me a PM and I'll fill you in further.
