Worth driving from Vegas this weekend?

No new snow on the horizon, hasn't been in a bit. Worth driving six hours? Is it possible the wind will create some nice blower conditions? Or is everything hard and bumped out? Can't get excited about moguls on cornice/Dave's/etc. Could there be decent stuff left on 13/14? Or dragon's area? Will groomers be decent or scraped down to the bone?

What do you guys think?

Just talked to the handyman that used to take care of OGC. I need to go under the cabin to where the pipes go into the bathroom with a heater and extension cord. The kitchen and shower are fine. Still just got a trickle in the bathroom sink still.

Have you considered going to Brian Head instead? It's only 3 hours from Las Vegas.

Life is really tough when you have to make decisions. Mammoth is 5 hours away from Vegas via Hwy 95 over Westgaard Pass Hwy 168. What is your problem? It takes people that long to get there from LA.

While you are down there you can wrap those pipes with heat tape.

Sure it would be worth it! We have 6-18 feet (according to MMSA's home page snow report).

Do you have reservations? This will be the Martin Luther King, Jr. 3-day weekend and town is usually pretty booked.

Thank you to those few who replied with useful information. We were just at Brian Head last weekend (fresh pow, awesome) and are going next weekend, so that wouldn't be an option for this weekend. But thanks for the suggestion.

When we drive to Mammoth, we take 95>266>264>6>120>Benton Crossing>395, which takes about 5-6 hours. The reason it's a tough decision is if I'm going to ride hard groomers and off-piste moguls, I can do that at Bear/Snow Summit/Brian Head/Eagle Point for a much shorter drive (a day trip, in fact). I was just trying to get a feel for what type of conditions I can expect this weekend. Also, we are about 6 hours away from SLC, and their temps will be colder this weekend, which means a less vicious freeze/thaw cycle.

So anyways, thanks for the input.

There is no faster way to Mammoth from Vegas than Westgaard Pass. Period!
