Fantastic weather down HerE!
Cool a drizzly, no bugs, deer, quail and rabbits doing their thing. Considering the alternative (the rest of the country a hot muggy mess) this is heaven. Perfect day for riding a new trail. Time for a shower, and on with the festivities.

Happy Independence Day! !
I used to be with it, then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with, isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to yoooouuu.

Yikes it's cool (64) and enough drizzle to need wipers just now. What happened to the awesome beach weather we were having??? I feel bad for the tourists and the businesses that depend on them.

I saw the fire on tv in Palmdale. Not good!

Very strange in the ES today. Started out clear and immediately turned to clouds and wind. There is a high overcast and hot as usual.

A lady told me she about got heat stroke at the Bridgeport rodeo the other day. Now, that doesn't happen too often in Bridgeport.

It is so weird to think of you guys down there in the fog and 60 degree weather.

It is still a good hiking day in the mountains so far. No problem yet. Hardly anybody was at Intake II which is another unusual thing. That must be because the 4th is on a week day.

Another award winning day in paradise.

This news blurb is rather disturbing:

At 0940 a cloud appeared above the Paiute Crags. By 1100 thunderheads were forming and to the east, the White Mtns. were covered in thunderheads. PG photo op moment?

I arrived at the Tyee Tr. at 0800. A guy was coming out after already having hiked up and back from the 4th Tyee Lk. Some of these people I meet out hiking are incredible. They would do a hike like that and then go to work at 9.

It was hot, a little windy and absolutely perfectly blue. Not much cloud action but that could be coming up. We will believe it when we hear the thunder and see the dark rain clouds gathering.

Until then, all I see is what I want to see-smiling faces and happy people.

This is the first summer for my dog in the Sierra, and she was born to it. It hasn't been easy teaching her to stick around, but she is coming along nicely after a few scoldings.

Nice photo. 103 right now in beautiful Bishop, windy as usual, and a few clouds floating over dropping the temps by ten degrees immediately. Mountains could not be better and I could not be more stoked to see some of the most healthy looking ladies imaginable out hiking with their dogs. Good Lord! Paramedics meet me at the bottom of the trail if I can still make it without passing out and my dog licking my face trying to make me come to.

I am still speechless! Which is rare for me.

Per the Morning Report on the Death Valley website, yesterday Death Valley (Furnace Creek) had a low of 107 and a high of 128. That's gotta be a record low recorded maximum for the world.

Close to the 134 record high in the Valley of Death. That kind of heat is truly unbelievable. It's enough to burn your lungs out.

Overcast in Bishop today but still hot. Hard to tell what is going on anymore.

Just realized I totally screwed that up....what I meant was record high minimum temperature. But I think you all knew what I meant. Anyways I agree with WindyScotty some weird weather that is hard to figure out what's gonna actually happen.
