June Weather

Go get 'em, cheapski!

I got bit by a mosquitoe for the first time today up above North Lake. Spring is over and summer is on about a month early.

Pretty toasty down here in Bishop.

It looks like the mountains might get a nice little drenching tonight and tomorrow!

It's raining a bit on and off in June.

So is everyone gonna want a report on the weather from June everyday?

I got a couple of skeeter bites at Rush Creek yesterday. More bites than I got on my lures.

Lovely afternoon and evening T-storm today and the show continues tonight. Very high winds, good amount of rain, a bit of hail and some neat thunder and lightning! Nice to get my filthy car washed by Ma Nature. Good for the extreme fire danger we've had the last few days. :y:

Bluebird skies this morning, but still very windy and a chilly 37 degrees. Mountains look mighty pretty with their little dusting of white.

Cool and windy earlier in June, wind is calming now. Might have to take the boat out on the lake that SUX this afternoon.

The bros came over Tioga from the Bay Area yesterday on their bikes and battled wind, hail, rain and the raw elements that men must endure. They said it was just like back in '72 and loved the challenge.

Then it was amazingly cool last night and windy this morning. No dust in the valley, perfectly clear and excellent riding weather, as they headed for Goldfield over Westgaard and the Redwood Run later in the week.

Don't mess with cheapski weather!

Yep, there hasn't been any good wind, rain, and raw since '72! :?:

I don't know about all this nino talk. Here is the report. It is a near perfect day in Bishop with clarity enough to see every little detail in the mountains.

However, up at 7,000 feet, the Pinyon Pines are pollinating like never before since I don't remember when. It is real bad for allergy sufferers when the wind comes up. That should be in a few hours. It is fab in the mountains today.

Haven't heard "fab" used since 1972.

It's sunny, warm and a bit breezy in June today. Yard work then gardening then fishin'.

Sorry I haven't been keeping the June weather up to date. I kinda wish someone else in June would help me keep it up to date.

I am working on the car so I can get up to the mountains. Still have more wood to get and the garden is a growing like gangbusters.

The Fab Four: OGT, PG, Skipunk and Malo. It could be any number of variations.

Anybody who is sitting in their house vegetating like some of my doof neighbors on a day like this is a Big Loser! They are all well enough to get out, too. If they keep it up, they will lose their health, guaranteed. I just wish the sick and those in hospitals could get out to see the mountains today.

Good Lord, so many of you that are stuck in an office right now would give their left...to be out in the mountains right now.

I am thinking of you and hope you come to see us soon.

Yes Scotty - we cubicle rats would ALL love to be up there on such a beautiful day - but think about it, do you really want a few hundred thousand SoCali's moving en masse to the Eastside?

Sorry but DWP won't allow the masses to inhabit the ES. It's okay if we see you up here though. We know you have to go back to make more money to come up here and travel the world. It's all relative. The point is that you get out the door and do something wherever you are. Even in the cubicle. An ES calendar on the wall might help. Images of the ES is good, too. Anything to get yourself all jacked up to want to hike or ride or whatever.

I would say this a good time, because you can be sure that by July there will be fire smoke creeping around. I hate that when that happens. It is the one thing besides bad weather that can really ruin a trip.
