Amazing hailstorm, for here, in the last few minutes. I finally decided to get out the camera and shot some video, but missed the peak. Crazy stuff.

was out in the hot tub for a while and saw a couple lightning flashes light up the sky... not sure where they came from... but it was pretty cool to have some snow falling and a little lightning flashing.

Wind is buffeting the building now.
I used to be with it, then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with, isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to yoooouuu.

So... thinking about running up to Bear in the morning, webcam video shows decent snow.

Anyone have a measurement? 6", I am on the bubble about driving up, but 8 or more will seal the deal.

Yeah, I realize snowmaking trail depths are different, but everywhere else looked brown at SV on Saturday, so don't expect much off-piste if you go.

Evelyn -I'm cute but don't know how to dress- Taft is reporting Big Bear has 12" and Snow Summit 14"... i think someone is pulling her belt. People on Socalmtns.com have been reporting 4-5" in town the last hour.

4 to 5 all day I presume? I was hoping it would stop in single digits so I wouldn't be stuck having to go to work on a bottomless day.

I guess I'll post these here. Like I said, I missed the best of the hail show and don't feel like editing down my video clip.

This manzanita is near rain gutter downspout, so I'm always watching drainage.

0.95" for Vista in northern San Diego county. That's more than forecast. Looks like plenty of isolated showers rolling through the rest of the night.

And here I was thinking that this storm might be a bust when it was sunny this morning!

running storm total now 6" at the house... still periodically snowing, mostly light... but right now it's coming down moderately again. Probably 7-8" at Big Pines now. Gonna probably do some snowshoeing tomorrow.

12" in the San Berdoos?!? :swear: :swear: I mean, enjoy your powder day.

I woke up at 1:30 to what was perhaps the final wave through here. And the wind. Nearby palms were really flailing, but I don't see any obvious damage outside of one smaller palm that looks like it's leaning over.

Sitting in the parking lot at snow valley. I'll hit a few laps on the two bowls they didn't groom then I'm outta here. Gorgeous day.
