Is there a trend these days to passively accept whatever is fed to one?

it's not a trend at MH, it's a way of life. ;)

The top of San Gorgonio was definitely white yesterday.

Still was today as well, even on the South facing sides. I'm guessing the stuff on the North side will hang out until winter.

I'm curious what the low was last night, the icicles hanging off the gun lead me to believe it was pretty marginal.

After further research I see that it wasn't that marginal, definite cold pockets at work though. JPL and town are only reporting mid-30's lows when Chair 10 got into the 20's.

more than anything it was the wind-sheltered areas that got colder. It's windy up here at Big Pines, but was pretty still in town last night, so it got down into the mid 20's there.

No, the lady and I didn't get a season pass this year. Tired of the games with East.

We may get a points pass though.

there's actually about 20 cars at the East parking lot playing on the patch of snow... or maybe they're just there for the hamburgers. :?

Summary Last Updated - 10/28/11 at 8:40 AM

Hey, so last night wasn't all that. Made a little snow but had to shut down around 2am because it got too warm. So here's the deal. "Snow Beach" scenario TODAY for passholders only. Today...not tomorrow. No lift. Half a trail. Base of East. 10am. We're gonna roll out some jibs and hike it until its gone.

Passholders come up and get your passes. Hang out. Shred a little bit. Might have enough snow to make it through the day. Definitely in the morning. If you like it. Cool. If not, that's cool to. We're just gonna shred for a while and knock the cobwebs off. Come by if you can.

Talk about "diffident".

You'll be happy to note there won't be an active push to put a park over there unless we get a lot of snow. However, will the BS about it never being open continue...I'm guessing yes. I still awaiting some media for today's 'opening', it should be interesting.

What they did 2 yrs ago (put in a park/jumps on the left half of Goldrush- and kept it open a good part of the winter, even on weekdays) I'd be willing to take that sacrifice again. I think I got in over 25 days that year, compared to 5 this past year.

I can safely say that if it hadn't rained and taken out a week of holiday business East would have been open a lot more. That caused season long problems that are still being fixed as we speak.

I also just saw the pictures from today, no comment.
