Upper 50s and windy most of the day at my house. Would not mind seeing some more warm weather with all this wood we got drying over here.

This is purely anecdotal evidence but the sea ice in the arctic is refreezing earlier than is typical. For example, the refreeze started two weeks earlier than in 2007 when the record for lowest sea ice extent was set:

It's called the Mint Fire... in Mint Canyon area of Agua Dulce north of Santa Clarita. I don't have much info on it as my radio traffic from that side of the forest is not very clear all the way over here.

So Mt High's now making snow I take it? A few open runs at West on weekends? Will East be open next week? Do I need chains? Half-price lift tickets til October?

I like Mt High, cuz I've never found them to exaggerate their snow depths or conditions at all.

It looks like an early start to winter in St Moritz with snow as low as 4,000 feet!

I am really perplexed. The Rabbit Brush bloomed early and now the aspens are turning colors late. It is absolutely beautiful out there and a long way from Indian summer. Yet, storms pop up in the afternoon. It is as wild as nature can be. Very exciting!

Definitely still like summer in its peaking stage. In fact, I was being bothered by mosquitoes yesterday at 10,000'. It could not be nicer. It looks perfectly clear in the morning and has had storm build up in the afternoon the past couple of days. Let's see if it does it again today.

Allergies continue to be extra wicked.
