Hello all,
I just registered to the forum after reading (and thoroughly enjoying) a spirited thread regarding some frustrations after a massive dump in 2010 which prompted the delayed opening of quite a few Upper and Mid Mountain chairs. What impressed me the most was how many users here understand and appreciate the severity of an unstable snowpack and the importance of the good judgement of a staff at a mountain such as Mammoth. What was more impressive was that the CEO of the mountain actually chimed in with very informed narrative. I could tell after reading four or five pages of the thread that I'd dig this forum and (most of) it's users.
I have not been to MM in a few years. I've been busy dadding out and raising my little ones. One of whom will be introduced to snowboarding this year! I, like many live in So Cal and plan to spend quite a bit of time in Mammoth this year as my family has a place there now!
I grew up riding Bear and Summit but now that I'm into my 30's I long for pow turns over park laps. Most of my time in the Mammoth area in the past was spent at June (RIP). I look forward to spending much more time at MM this season and beyond and introducing my family to the mountains and sport that I've loved so much since I was 10.
Seems like there are some good, intelligent, well-intentioned snow folk here and hopefully I'll fit right in.
Nice to meet you all.

deserves another
