$8 for a locker? Seriously?

Postby fred » Thu Nov 11, 2010 4:27 pm

Really, FOUR TIMES what it cost just last year? And wasn't that already double what it had been the year before? It's not like MMSA bought new lockers or anything (or even painted them) . . . same old. Looks pretty much like plain greed. I don't think $8 is going to break anybody, but the principle of the thing is just nasty.

Just think -- if I had bought a boatload of tokens two years ago and held on to them, I would have achieved a 300% return in 24 months.

Sorry MMSA, you went from getting $2 from me every day to getting $8 from me, oh, never. Not really going to affect either of us financially, but it sure leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I saw a couple of employees working on the lockers in the old gondola building last Sunday and knew the increase was not going to go over big with some folks. :|

I took these pix today.

Wow! thats some serious money for a locker $4per use~ Dont forget anything in the locker! but probably still much less expensive my my season locker! i think it was what $175 this year with pass.. with the ski back trail finally in, (and supposedly actualy able to ride back to the village rather than the "hike back trail" of last year), was seriously thinking of keeping the boards at home.
Still, probably lower than most areas. And we dont see anyone complaining about daily lift tickets at $92 regular! Yikes~ we got a bargain. either that or im getting old.

You cannot be serious!!! How does Mammoth justify a 400% increase in one year, 800% in 2 years????

Calling Rusty, this really is a regressive increase as it hits hardest for the people who cannot afford season lockers and most likely are not second homeowners!!! :@

Locker renewal hasn't been that low in years. This season's rental fee for pass holders is $275.

Btw, when taking the bus down today I observed the construction crew is still working on the foundations for the pedestrian bridge that ends at the Ski Back Trail and is supposed to allow you to walk over to The Village. Doesn't appear it will get done for this season either.

So break even is only 35 days? Maybe we'll check on whether there are any season lockers left at Canyon Lodge?

Its $8 per use. 2 $4 tokens each time.

The price of locker should never be as much as the price of the house wine at Hyde.

Now the steepest run at Mammoth is the run to the locker. :P
