800mammoth@mammoth-mtn.com Mammoth Mountain Document Error

Postby skibum4ever » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:43 pm

I got 4 messages today, within a few minutes of each other, saying that I had filled out the wrong (last year's?) Pass release form and giving a link for more information. It also said that in the next couple of days I would get the correct form and would need to resign it.

Note that I only purchased 2 passes but got 4 messages.

Has anyone else gotten this email? Is it legitimate or could it be spam using Mammoth's email address?

It would appear the the "800mammoth@mammoth-mtn.com" is the address; "Mammoth Mountain Document Error" the subject.

I received two this evening, both with a time stamp of 6:55 p.m.

It started out with "Dear %%firstname%%," :-? :?

Brilliant text in the subject line.

Good to know I'm not alone.

But I'd like an official answer from brahm or whomever, that this is or isn't an official Mammoth mailing. Somehow the format seems wrong, and you can't be too careful about spam these days.

We bought our passes and signed the release at Main. And I still got a release via email to sign.

I signed in person when I renewed as well and still received a edocument to sign via email that same evening (which I esigned & returned).

I just pulled my current 12/13 copy out of our file and no where on the form does it indicate it is for any particular season. Looking back at previous liability waivers I've signed there are no season dates on those either. You'd think that due to the ever changing "rules" of this program and these forms each season, that they would have a season/year typed on them so there would be little chance of guests signing or being sent the wrong forms. :!:

Didn't want to start a new thread about this, so I thought I'd put it here.

Today I received this email from MMSA:

Hi SIERRA LADY,
When you own an MVP pass, you're guaranteed the best price for skiing and riding at Mammoth Mountain. As a MY Mammoth cardholder who comes to Mammoth frequently, buying a season pass costs the same, if not less than purchasing lift tickets. At just $659, you can lock in the best price and start using it now through the rest of the season and all of next season.

I don't mean to be rude, but I just don't understand MMSA's email marketing campaign organization. I've been a charter MVP member for all 13 years, so how come all of sudden I'm receiving an email about being a "My Mammoth cardholder"? :-? :?

First the wrong liability form and now this. Btw, I have not received my new form to esign yet...anyone else?

I just asked were my new release is.
This is the email I got back.

You should receive an Echosign email with link to the current season's release this week. The email you received went out before it was completed; however the information (other than 48 hours and the lack of personalization [%%firstname%%] ) was correct.

Please excuse the inconvenience.

Just to clear the air. We goofed and provided Echosign with an incorrect document for some passholders to sign. We caught the mistake on April 6. While there is little difference in the actual Liability Release portion of the document as it relates to skiing/boarding, there is enough of a revision to the Conditions of Use that our legal council has requested that we require all passholders to read and sign a correct 2012/13 Liability Release. Probably the biggest change was that we added Tamarack and the summer Bike Park to the Release so that pass holders will not need to sign these additional documents should they take advantage of Mountain Biking or Cross Country Skiing.

If you would like to examine or compare the documents, here are the links:

http://mammothmountain.com/docs/assets/LiabilityRelease.pdf for 2012/2013
http://www.mammothmountain.com/docs/assets/2011-2012LiabilityRelease.pdf for 2011/2012

Passholders were notified prematurely (and impersonally, I must add since this was my fault - "Dear %%firstname%" last Friday) that a new release would be forthcoming within 48 hours. We are now working on getting the release offers out to exactly the correct guests. If all goes well, passholders should have them by the weekend.

We have no plans to turn off any passes this spring for lack of a Liability Release. New MVPs may have to sign a Liability Release when they pick up their passes but new MVPs need to go to the ticket windows to pick up their passes anyway. Current MVPs can continue to ski this spring with no implication for not having completed the documents.

Please accept our apology for the blunder and get up here and enjoy these last few weeks of snow!

Back when I was a MVP member, I used to fax that liability form in and then on opening day it was always the same... you need to sign your release.
