I was down in the Malibu area yesterday shooting skateboarding at the clover pool. A pretty rad crew was on hand including the two Jay's, Jay Smith and Jay Adams along with numerous other old school skaters...
Due to a gnarly motorcycle accident in 2005 that left him near crippled, Jay Smith can't do laybacks and compress like he used to so he forgoes the hand plant and does something like this...
But on the other hand Jay Adams has no such problem, he just can't keep a straight face while trying his version of a Jay Smith lay back...

I'd heard about Jay S.'s motorcycle accident. His laybacks are the ones that got me wanting to learn them back in the day. Pala skatepark, last May...
