I saw a large Bear at the Village on Halloween @1:30 near Sushi Re. Last night the same bear was ransacking the neighbors dumpster out side our bedroom window at 1:00am. It had the lid fully open and when we told it to shoo the lid dropped down and clobbered him on the head really good temporarily trapping him half in/ half out of the dumpster. It was one of the supposedly bear proof dumpsters with the latch handle inside a cover. The lid is heavy and closes and latches automatically . Have the bears figured out this latching system or do my neighbors need to make sure nothing obstructs the lid from closing fully?

So the relocation traps should be designed like this dumpster?

I know how to catch those bears that don't hibernate. Wait till the lakes freeze real good. Go cut a hole in the ice and spread a bag of frozen peas around it. When the bear comes to take a pea, kick him in the ice hole.

And the pea brain kicking the bear's butt will slip on pee(s) and go down with said bear. I like the visualization tho.

Thats just as bad as going back to your car to get a gun to shoot a bear 'in self defense'

Takes a " pee " kick him in the Ice hole.

My 9 year year old nephew told me this one. I didn't think it would go over anybody's head.

I stil can't believe Motel 6 does not take in the trash cans from around the rooms. I stayed there two consecutive Wednesdays in Sept. 08. Both night I was woken by bears outside my door rooting the tall beige cans they have outside the rooms. Was sad to watch him run off with a grilled cheese. Now they just post a warning in the lobby.

I grew up around the mountains but seriously freaks me out to think what might happen to some visitor there who has no idea about what to do when confronted by a bear. These bears were on the sidewalk right under my window. Imagine opening your door and seeing cute and cuddly standing there!

Forget the bears! When I stayed there early season last year it was gross how the trash was overflowing and already scattered around!
