That blind reference was really an insult to me after I grew up with a deaf uncle.

What kind of review would you do for him? Huh-dumb ass? Do you think he might like a photo, since he can't hear?

whoever you are-go back to whatever or wherever you came from. Return of suzie chapstick...you make me sick!

Sorry WS, wasn't trying to pick on you. I was just expressing my opinion, this is a forum anyways. It's okay to argue, I'll debate something with you all day long. But when you go off and start calling people names I have to laugh.

You take things too personal WS.

I saw Ray once. Front row dinner seats at the Coachhouse in San Juan Capistrano. For a blind man, he sure connected with the crowd and played a hell of a set. You couldn't help being happy. onegoodshow! That was before the digital pic age, and NO CAMERAS was the rule.

Gotta go NASCAR's on...
I used to be with it, then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with, isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to yoooouuu.

I just saw Bad Religion last Saturday at SOMA in San Diego.

The review is short. It was PUNK. Bad Religion did not dissapoint, played a 27-song set that spanned their entire catalog. They were in fine form and i got to treat my older brother to the show who had only seen them once (albeit at a festival in the day time) this being at a much smaller venue made it feel like a real punk show to him.

my ears are still ringing.

2 opening bands: The Frights (a surf-rock band of 3 young lads from San Diego) and Polar Bear Club from West New York. Polar Bear Club were forgettable (had a few ok songs) when they announced they had 3 more songs to go, some people in the crowd boo'd...

but check out the Frights, they just released a 5-song EP, these kids are barely over 18....and before their last song (Beach Porn) - the best of the night....they told the crowd that T-Shirts were on sale for $10 bucks and they literally were spray painting the shirts before they went on stage, and they got a big applause for that because thats what starting out as a young band is all about....

Here is a link to the Frights EP, my fave song is Beach Porn

LL19,

I assume you are talking about real cameras? I am so tired of going to a show and having to look past dozens of cell phones capturing mediocre to crappy images and video. Some of these people have theirs up pretty much all concert. How much pooey vid are you going to watch the next day or next week? It should be like it is for the professionals at concerts, at least a lot of the big ones. Ya get three songs, then you're outta there.

I see this at school performances, but that's a little more understandable, obviously. Still I almost want to volunteer a policy where half the parents pick one or two songs and the other half pick one or two. And then there are the parents holding up iPads and Galaxy tabs. Maybe it was the three recitals in six days, but I was glad to confirm I wasn't the only parent rolling his eyes.

I just got back from a Beyonce concert. My hair got messed up and was standing up, what little there is left of it.

I haven't seen such booty since the Ike and Tina Review in '72. I must say that Tina and her two girls were the best, most energetic, most dynamic singers and dancers any of us in Frisco had ever seen. Or ever will!

Let me tell you about my deaf uncle Ernest. He worked at the SF Chronicle as a pressman. He was the first deaf kid to go to a public high school before WWII. He was a 40s dude with the suit and Fedora hat. Always smoked a cigar.

He could write and sign in five languages. When he was a young boy he delivered newspapers and came home early in the morning to leave money under his mother's pillow. Although, he was never able to afford college, he was an avid reader and highly intelligent.

He brought this Chinese kid from Taiwan to have a cleft palate surgery and was greeted by the governor off the plane.
His accomplishments were many, and his smile was even greater.

He never heard one musical note all his life and did not know the difference. Yet, when he drove you in his car, he would turn on the radio for you.

Music is a beautiful thing, but what if you could not hear?

Appreciate what you have. Be empathetic toward those who don't have.

One last thing to think about. A lot of guys have lost their hearing in one or both ears from loud music. My friend has to wear hearing aids because of it. Even animals have been affected by loud stereos. And kids too.

Protect your ears even if you have to take plugs with you in your little pocket.
