Thankyou friends for your support. She is in a little pain today as you can imagine. The dogs are truly incredible. They are so tough and adapt so fast to any given situation. They never stop dispite any difficulties. If they can't walk, they crawl.

It really blew my mind when my vet told me that she knows of a blind dog that can catch frisbees. What do you think of that one?

This is another one of those life learning lessons that we must go through whether it is a person or a beloved pet.

I am sad for my dog about this injury but am very thankful she is left with one eye to still see with.

When she gets better I will send a photo so you can see what she looks like. She is now One Eye Mallory. Sounds like one of those old Bodie bar floozies.

.

Well WS . Been talking about Dinkey Creek, Lakes etc. lately. Guess who that was named after? After a little dog about the size of a rabbit.. Turns out this Grizzly was mauling on some man and Dinkey came along to protect his owner. Grasped on the bear's leg enabling the man to get his rifle and kill the bear. Well Dinkey was killed but saved the man's life. In gratitude they named a Sequoia Grove and several landmarks after the dog. The grove was latter renamed after McKinley. This all took place in the 1800's. I did some research on this before our trip. I love the 1800's....
Our dogs will do almost anything for us....vice versa. ;)
Wishing best etc....

Sorry WS, she sure is lucky to have you to take care of her. Positive thoughts and prayers for her to recover quickly.

One Eyed Mallory would be a great name for a band.

Copper can't make it up the stairs anymore. :( poor guy. My mom can't either, and she seems perfectly happy not going upstairs, so maybe he'll get used to being a downstairs only dog. Gonna suck not having him wake up with me in the morning, but he'll be waiting for me when I come down for coffee.

Thanks mspam for your kind thoughts about Mallory.

Can you get one of those elevators for Copper that goes up and down the stairs? Teach him how to operate it. Your mom and Copper could go together.

I wish the best for both of them.

So sad when they can't/won't do certain things anymore. Snowball used to always love being on the bed and bugging me to pet her. Now she has no interest in being on the bed. :(

Yep, Sunny Girl and Petey are looking forward to some snow to play in. In the mean time Petey likes to hike around Gull Lake and Reverse Peak.

Petey say's, "Eat trout everyday and your coat will be as shiny as mine."

But Petey would really rather see this.
