Unemployed locals question job outsourcing

just a reminder to shop local while local jobs go to people living out of the area

For example, the company is looking at applicants who are general contractors versus applicants who have been in construction for several years. The general contractor would be the better fit for the position, Orrick said.

Another concern is that somebody with the set of skills and abilities that Weir possesses might seek a higher-paying job when the economy improves and construction jobs return.

hey Orrick,, You're off your rocker, when the economy improves your general contractor will be the first to move on to bigger and better things.

I agree completely with Boone. MLH hires buckingham or contracts them, they should have some influence. Hire locally and buy locally.

TOML...Let's get some one out of Mammoth to build and write our web sites.

o and let's hire them to market our site at 2000% over the normal e-cpm out there... o and those marketing dollars are flooding out of town at a high percentage.

Chamber. lets get a person from out of town to make our ads...

On and on it goes! :swear:

I am busy sending out resume's to every western resort!

Hmm maybe I will get outsourced work from Vail...

I called the local T & R and asked for Dana she told me I had zero creditability making videos or bringing people to town... *&^%&^%*&^

Time to :x and take a walk...

man o man,, you'd better make that a long walk

Zero crediblity, same as their website visitmammoth.com

Look on the bright side snowman,, you didn't spend 70 thousand dollars on your website. But then again if it was tax payer money you were spending maybe you would have spent a rediculous amount of money just like they did.

Snowman,
It shows how much they don't know. :@ :swear: I work for a fairly large financial company in Newport Beach and we all talk about "The Snowman". When you get a new video up, the word quickly spreads around here: "Did you check out Snowman's latest video?"

[sarcasm]Yeah man, http://www.visitmammoth.com is the website for my daily stoke... I just can't wait to log on everyday for the new and exciting things on that website...[/sarcasm]

Well it looks you may be bringing people to another town, and the T & R allowed that to happen... how sad... but good luck though... they really missed the boat on this one...

Yeah it sounds like a 67 year old washed up musician wrote that song. Prolly did actually. Maybe one case they should have outsourced ...haha

Snowman...wtf? Im flippin speechless.

Regarding this article...I wish they could have gone into further examples of this happening. I though the article was a bit drawn out. Could have used that space naming other examples.
