While sitting in Tusks, we felt a small quake at 4:11. All the patrons went. "Earthquake", and continued drinking.

First things first.....maybe our next post should be have many large quakes have you been through?

We were on the second floor in our friend's assisted living apartment in Bishop when the e.q. hit, but we never felt it. :? We were getting ready to leave so took the elevator down only to find the lobby filled with residents and staff all a-buzz with talk of the event. Everyone there felt it, but we didn't (we had been walking around a lot doing some things for our friend so maybe that's why). Weird. :|

I am always so glad when I have missed one. Lived in Sylmar for that one and right next to Northridge for the other one. :o

Unless you are running for the door, it is all a figment of your imagination. Probably just another underground nuclear test blast. Or the Lemurians are getting cranky.

was on the 11th floor of one of the Coronado Shores buildings when the Rose Canyon fault slipped in the mid 80s -- building swayed like a palm in the wind :o glass breaking [ dishes and knickknacks falling ] everyone running screaming to the door -- *me*? I just sat there on the couch [ don't want to be trapped in an elevator shaft or stairwell ]

I figured if the building began to pancake I'd go out on the balcony and jump just before it hit the ground ;)

building did just what it was designed to do in the circumstances -- moved on it's piers 8-)

RBS--well well....I was going to GHHS for the 1972 earthquake. I was also in the 1989 Loma Prieta while living in theSunset District of San francisco. And add the Northridge earthquake to my list...was living back in Grananda Hills again.

Now add the Mina earthquake from 2-12-13 while sitting In Mammoth Mountain lodge( does it count on my tally sheet?)

I was living in Toluca Lake, backside of Universal Studio's, when the '72 quake struck. The one thing that is still in my mind was that it hit right after the new wing of the Northridge Medical Center was dedicated. It was all fitted with the latest anti earthquake technology of the time...

Well the new wing fell over during the quake but the old original wing of the hospital survived pretty much intact. It was damaged but it was still standing...

How's that...
