I lost a huge fish in Crowley once upon a time, and I can only imagine the fish are bigger in PV.

I'd go with worms or crawdads

I don't know if Tahoe is open all year, but they used to catch those big Mackinaw in the lake. Wow, they had to use the super strong line and go way deep. I think those things got up to 55 pounds, maybe more. I never did get to catch one or even fish for one. Perhaps one of you folks did. I know a few guys hooked onto dead bodies. The most famous account was of someone hooking onto a Washoe Indian woman's perfectly preserved body from pioneer days.

Goin' for the Big Mac!

Have you seen Tahoe Nessie?

When I was a kid I found a dead lady on the beach early one morning. I thought it was a bum sleeping until the incoming tide reached her and she didn't move or wake up :(

^ get yourself a liestrong bracelet or something like that to stick the end of the flyrod into. Not breaking your wrist is key while learning to cast.
I was addicted to soap....... now I'm clean.

Lessons for fly fishing are highly recommended. Find out who the fly fishing club in your area is. They have tournament ponds to practice on. You have to drop the fly inside of three different rings and then distance cast.

In college we all used to go to Golden Gate Park in winter to practice to get ready for the Sierra in summer. One time the world's champ was there and gave us pointers. I think he could cast out to nearly 200 feet. They have a reel on the ground that feeds out line beyond the 50 foot taper.

It is one of the finest sports known to man. Good luck!

The Double Eagle Resort in June Lake offers fly fishing lessons. They have their own stocked pond for you to practice on. Once you learn hit me up and I'll show you my secret holes.

This would be a good time to not say anything. They are already talking about fishing opening, because it is just around the corner.

Some big DWP construction project is going on at Buckley Ponds.
