I hate to say it but its not that uncommon of a thing around the employee housing area. It doesn't happpen every day, or even enough to really enforce security in the area, but it does happen. A few years back my friends apartment and three others got broken into in Lupin Employee Housing. iPods, cash, snowboards.. you name it, gone. No one was caught. My boys s-10 truck YEARS ago got the taillights stolen.. not just the bulbs, the whole fixtures out of the Manzanita employee housing unit parking lot. My friend was one whos stuff got stolen in the ghetto this year (anyone remeber the story of the kid who robbed a few houses, and got home, and his mom stabbed him cause he stole her car to do the dirty deed - they both end up in Bridgepot). In happens. Especially in the Ghetto and especially in employee housing. Hard times, broke a** seasonal bros.. you name it. Ive had my sunglasses stolen out of my car, and firewood off my front porch when i lived on Mono. We also had our single snowmo trailer stolen from our parking lot on Mono. The sled was in the shop, and the trailer got jacked... which ended up in Joshua Tree with a stolen dirtbike from Bishop on it. Needless to say I put a lock on my double trailer now.

I wouldnt say Mammoth is unsafe, and theres a high crime rate. It just sucks when that sh*t happens no matter where you live.

Sounds like they DO need to enforce some type of security. Im sure because its not "their" property its not that much of a concern. :worried:

Ghetto is Manzanita Street thru Joaquin (Manzanita, Mono, Lupin, Joaquin) the 4 streets in the center of town that Dorrance runs through.

Its a shame for homeowners in their that it is openly called "the ghetto" Most landlords will even advertise "in the ghetto"

Its just an older section of town, a little more run down, dark streets.. yea the ghetto

^ The sub division name for that area is really "Sierra Valley Sites", but long-time residents like to call it the "Historic District".
