Here's a map of the Double Eagle's course. I haven't been out there yet but will check it out and take some pictures. Seems like they solved the parking problem.

^ Several of my friends have xc skied that loop and say it was very nice with lovely scenery. We'll try it after there is some new snowfall.


I hosted at the Mammoth Nordic trailhead again today and had a great time! Not as busy as last Saturday, but a steady flow of users. Being that it's been so warm the last few days and it barely froze last night, Brian had a heck of a time grooming. The snow was too soft to set any fresh classic tracks, but he flat groomed the rest. I garnered a new membership and sold $60 worth of raffle tickets!

Praying for snow this next week!

We could sure use a lot more snow at the town elevation because we're down to dirt and pavers at the Mammoth Nordic trailhead (south aspect across from the Welcome Center front doors). However, folks coming off the trails over the weekend said that it's still pretty good xc skiing for what's out there. Brian continues to do an outstanding job with daily grooming and moving around the snow we do have.



I really enjoyed meeting the nice folks in this great group called "Mammoth Basin Nordic Backcountry Patrol" both Saturday and today at the trailhead. They skied/patrolled our trails on Saturday then set up their booth to provide some backcountry education to our trail users today. Check them out: http://www.mammothskipatrol.com/

Sadly, until we get more measurable snow in town, Brian will no longer be grooming the Mammoth Nordic/Shady Rest trails. There isn't anything more he can do with what is left until there is more snow.

Thanks to everyone who have come out to enjoy our trails so far this season and for all your encouragement and support.
