What bindings to get...

Postby pkerr » Fri Jan 25, 2013 8:53 am

Just got my K2 Sidestash and was wondering what binding to put on.

Due to a "deal" I'm getting here are my 2 choices:
Marker Squire 11
Solomon STH 12

Thoughts?
Thanks

I had always had good luck with Solomon STH bindings (STH 16 Drivers), but have had some recent pre-release problems on my Solomons mounted on my Armada JJ's when skiing varied terrain. I'm not such a fan anymore. There's not much meat in the heel to account for a flexing ski.

I have some STH 12 Drivers on big powder boards (slightly burlier that the plain STH 12) and I have to set the DIN at 11 (I'm 145 pounds) to prevent preleases, versus a DIN of 8 for my skis with FKS/Pivot bindings.

Then again, I've heard Squires are pretty weak as well.

So you've set them to 11 instead of 8? Don't you risk them NOT releasing when they should?

Nope, they still come off more than I'd like. DIN really isn't a standard thing...
