Look Pivot

Postby Dropn N » Wed Oct 17, 2012 8:48 pm

Got a new Look Pivot 14 binding today (2011/12 chrome model) and need to put an XXL brake on it. Anybody know an easy way to put it on with out ending up with FK thumb? Don't want to pay a tech.

M2M it is a simple screw mount. I meant removing the existing break and putting in the xxl brake. If you haven't done it or don't know how, the spring and brake will come down on your thumb like a rat trap only 10x harder...ouch!

just have the ski elevated ( blocks under tip and tail) so the brake arms are extended and it's eazy breazy - with the brake extended, you have already relaxed the spring -as you remove the screw - hold the pad that acuates the brake arms so the assembly does not snap as you remove the screw - - you will then have to press the new brake down to ingage the screw but most of the tention is removed when the brake is extended at most, its a 5 minute job - if the binding is not already mounted follow the same directions withthe binding heal piece on a block of wood
hope this helps -

M2M, they sent me not only the brake but the whole pivot table of the back binding. I did follow your steps and it was easy to swap out. If it was just the brake....different story. It would have required a lot of taking apart and assembly. None the less I had them mounted two weeks or so ago 8-)
