Bike Park Update

Postby snowboard247 » Wed Jun 09, 2010 12:16 pm

As the snow kept falling some of us were wondering if the summer would ever come? Well I think Frosty has finally moved to the southern hemisphere. We are working on giving you summer as soon as possible. Those of you that have been trying to find a place to ride bikes will be happy to know that Uptown is clear from shuttle stop F to town. Downtown is clear from the garage to town. This being said there are early season obstacles on the trail, Pinecones, snow, water, etc. If you are up for a Mountain bike adventure hop on the trails and enjoy. We will be clearing trails as quickly as possible. Summer is here!

Enjoy,
Bike Park Crew

Talked to the bike park people today, and the opening has been pushed back to the 25th. Don't expect too much, the snow pack is still crazy deep. The mountain is making amazing progress though. Lower mountain trails below main lodge, with most likely bus shuttles only(don't quote me, check back before you get here).

So the last few years they have honored the MVP add on price ($160 this year) at the ticket window on the first day of the season. Does anyone know if this will be happening again this season? Last year I paid $150 and this season is gonna be extra short for the DH trails up top so paying a $49 pass increase for a far shorter season seems like a rip off!

So does anyone have insider information about the bike park opening day?? I'm planning on coming up around July 4th.

I'm hopeful they will be running a lift or shuttle or something??

Thanks in advance!!

Friday, 6/25 with limited trails.

Here's the info on "My Mammoth" today:

Today's Report

Today is the official first day of summer! Why not rejoice by heading up to make a few turns? The morning temperature at Main Lodge was 38 degrees with clear skies and light winds. We expect temperatures to continue to climb this week. Broadway Express, Facelift and Chair 23 will operate from 7:30am-1pm today. We currently have a base depth of 2-6ft of snow and will remain open daily for skiing and riding through July 5, 2010.

Sierra Star Golf Course is now open for the season and the trail crews are hard at work to prepare the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park for its debut this Friday. Stay tuned for all the details.

Thanks but I can navigate through a website.... I wanted specifics about what trails are going to be open and what lifts/shuttles will be running.

Maybe I should be more specific next time.

Yes, maybe so. Then I wouldn't have answered at all.

Nice that SB 247 had your answers since he is an insider! :D

Yes I have. Rode downtown & shotgun on friday.

Upper 1/4 of downtown has a couple of reroutes because there still is snow in some areas. Shotgun however is awesome right now.

From today's "My Mammoth" report:

Beginning Friday, July 2 we will have two mountain bike trails open from the top of the mountain, Kamikaze and the upper section of Off The Top.
