Nice! Thanks for sharing!

I'm dying to know how the fish tasted and how you prepared it, if you ate them...

They were too pretty to eat so we released them to be caught another day. We also caught them early in the trip and wanted to eat all the food we brought to lighten the load.

Too pretty.
Dorado (mahi-mahi) are really pretty too, but taste realllllllly goooood. Even a cow has its pretty moments, I guess. Not eating based on looks is silly, but I see the point on prioritizing weight loss first.

Thanks for the report. That was some incredible terrain and vistas and fish that only a selct few ever even see.
Cheers!
I used to be with it, then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with, isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to yoooouuu.

Excellent report, thanks for taking the time to post all the photos as it can be a pia. Some really good pics in there, at least while I am sitting at the desk I can feel like I am in the backcountry. Nice catch and release. Job well done. That Philly hat is aged to perfection.

What was the final weight of the pack 50lbs?

Didn't weigh it but nothing more would fit in. I need to buy a lighter tent, but thankful I brought the larger one since we crammed all of our crap in there more than once. Maybe an ursack instead of a bear box and go all freeze dried food. I do like my creature comforts though. This is why I am more of a destination hiker instead of a thru hiker.

You inspire me Grumpy. Those Goldens are beautiful, as is the BC. I would have to clean and eat just one of those. Course that's me.

Unreal TR. Some real ground covered, and great pics. Glad to know those fish are still swimming up there.

The cross country travel and steep col keeps most people out of this area.

or they can get there by way of a fine path to L Lake and an adequate use trail to Puppet
undoubtedly the op knew this as he hiked out that way but "steep col" sounds so much more impressive
how funny -

bet even the 47% could get there if they wanted to
