I purchased some of the originals , and would love to support the families further. Please give the details for how any of us could help .

A side note...it kinda bothers me that the monument gets buried under snow.

I wish there was some form of remebrance for the Patrollers on the job that day, the ones who pulled these three guys out. I know at least one of them left Mammoth after this and could not return. Does anyone have any information on the guys who pulled them out?

I was there that fateful day & never will forget it. I was in on the original purchase, but the only gear I still have left with the sticker on it is my helmet, & I too would like additionals if anyone can pull this off. My hope is that it brings a good feeling to the Patrollers when they see them on the Hill, that what they do is appreciated & never taken for granted, & we will never forget their fallen bretheren. I always say thanks to the Trollers on the hill, & many seem to like that as well.
They do an amazing job on an impossible mountain!

Amen. Many people stop at the idea of becoming Patrol becuase you never know what you will up on. It is a horrendously dangerous job, and they get paid peanuts.

BUMP! On the eve of the 5th anniversary of that horrific day, just thought I would bring it up to keep these guys in your thoughts. If your on the hill tomorrow stop by the monument and pay your respects ( that is if they dig it out like in years past, but might be too much snow this time), I know I will, being an alum of patrol 20 years ago was my last year. Much respect to patrol especially after this winter.

Speaking of monuments.. There is a plaque on the cliffs going up chair 13.. Every year I wonder what that plaque says. Does anyone know what that's all about?

I haven't looked at in a while, but I believe it says "Lift Maintenance remembers richard Sherman and family." richard was on the maintenance crew for years.

The mountain really did a nice job with the memorial to those patrollers that lost their lives 5 years ago.

RIP

Normally the monument is visable, but this is not a normal year. Please pay your respects in any way you feel appropriate.

I will stop by the vent tomorrow for a few moments of silence and introspection.

I still rock a sticker on my helmet, but would love some more. Has anybody talked or PM Crusier?

Just wanted to give you a heads up. I ran into a friend of mine and he asked me to post that he is going to be doing a BBQ in honor of patrol in chair 2 parking lot between 11-1 tomorrow.
