Easter weekend crowds?

Postby CalvaryMike » Mon Mar 19, 2012 8:02 am

Okay, so someone tell me about Easter weekend crowds. I haven't experienced a holiday weekend in Mammoth for over 10 years. I avoid them like the plague. However, with a very busy schedule for the next couple of months and quarter end close, Easter weekend is the only available weekend (of course, Mom and my church won't be happy with me).

I take it isn't as crazy as Christmas week, MLK and President's or is it? And this year's Easter could be different than previous years because of the recent storm and everyone turning the heads back towards winter.

Any insights?

TIA

Ordinarily, I'd say that Spring Break and Easter aren't all that bad. But I think there is some pent-up demand out there ...

Rusty and the whole town is hoping it will be exceptionally crowded.

Normally it is not too bad because school breaks tend to be spread over a 3-4 week period. While there maybe some pent up demand for good snow, a lot of people have just given up on winter all together and made other plans.

The bottom line is it will be a reasonable weekend to visit, and with just a little common sense and knowledge of the hill the crowds are easy to avoid.

Besides, what better way to worship then in "god's own cathedral" (I think Muir was referring to Cathedral Peak, but you get the point.) Just genuflect when you get on the gondi, say a Hail Mary before dropping Hangers, and you should be fine.

Or go to that place that sux. They hold a 15 minute non-denominational Easter service at 1:15 p.m. on the deck near the top of J1. There you really are looking out at God's cathedral. :inlove:

What are they doing about pricing? I have seen pages of the site that say holiday pricing will be in effect and other pages that make it sound as if all things are to keep normal pricing. I just hope they keep normal pricing, that could be the difference between a trip to the snow or hitting the beach that week.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?
