2012-2013 season MVP

Postby davidpet » Wed Mar 07, 2012 4:21 pm

Based on what people have seen before, does anybody think there's any significant chance of MVP being opened up to new members this April? A season pass is only worth it for me at the MVP price, not the $1000 price. Just wondering about opinions...I know an announcement has not been made.

Don't you mean 2012/2013 season MVP? Last year they opened it to new members and IMHO they will again this year too.

yeah I meant for 2012-2013. People have told me they only do it every few years but I wasn't sure if the lack of snow this season hurt them enough to do it differently. Then again if they're expecting next year to be a much better year they may not have reason to do so.

Its seems like a yearly thing now. MVP has been reduced to an early bird season pass purchase program, and seeing how the mountain really needs the money right now, I expect them to re-open it again.

With high fuel prices , a dry winter, and the town hurting for money, I bet mvp prices to go up 10% and be available to only current pass holders.

LOL. Supply is constant (lift capacity). Your scenario reduces demand (prohibitive gas prices, no new pass holders allowed). Supply and demand taught in Econ 101 would then dictate a price drop, so don't quit yer day job...

Given the facts you stated, how does your conclusion make any sense?

Being that I was an Economics major, this is correct, although the supply in this case is a bit ambiguous. Lift capacity does not necessarily effect the demand in your scenario.

Now kids...The main thing is that all this is out of our control. I'm sure we'd all be stoked if the price for the MVP was lower next season due the lack luster winter we had this season. But that might not be the case. ..

Best to start saving ;)

I'd like to see tickets at $200 a day and the MVP at $2000

Less riff raff on the hill, and the pow would last longer.

Hec, let's just make it $300 a day and $3k for the MVP, I'm still in.

Rusty can throw in a few Free Fridays so his friends can ski.

he can raise the black pass to $20k
