Love the installment payment plan idea! That would be awesome. Rusty the people are talking!

Yes, I'll be buying the pass again. It always pays for itself early in the season, except this one. I only have 7 days so far, but have 2 more 3 day trips planned. Most of my friends ski Mammoth and it's really hard getting people together for a trip to Utah or Colorado. If Vail Resorts purchased Mammoth (I wish they would) then we would probably could get people to go there. Like years ago when you received 50% off your lift tickets at Whistler if you had a Mammoth season pass. It was well worth it.

If Vail buys Mammoth, you can say good bye to our long seasons.

the only reason vail doesnt stay open longer is because the forest service wont let them, it has to do with the elk migration.

Vail resorts owns plenty of resorts that aren't Vail...like Heavenly who closed on April 24th last year, on the biggest season ever. Before Vail Resorts owned them, they stayed open into May on a regular basis.

It is part of the Vail Resorts Network but it is not THE Vail Resort in Vail, CO.

Rusty, If you do the "installment plan" please consider offering a discount to people that pay cash in full.
Vail is not going to buy Mammoth. STWD has the money to wait the 10+ years for the market to correct. STWD specializes distressed property. In the next 10 years there will be some distressed property in mammoth.

It's not just mammoth.. I hope Rusty keeps the MVP price stable and doesn't raise it. But just in case Rusty is reading if offered my family will buy more then one year again. Regardless of the snow fall this year or next.

The Sheet: Given the year we’re having and the layoffs, et. al., how will this affect next year’s MVP (Mammoth Value Pass) pricing?

Gregory: I don’t know yet.
