Postby ted » Fri Feb 10, 2012 11:01 am

Platitudes aside, they effectively lowered the price $20 from the 08/09 season to the 09/10 season.

Most likely but you never know. I only have two day thus far but hoping for a miracle March to get to 15-20 days by end of season.

If end of Feb and March do not pan out with snow April is going to be ugly for pass sales. If it plays out with little snow, even if prices come down on the passes or stay the same I think at least 30% do not renew may be more. You also have to throw in at that time the switch from winter to summer gas blends so gas will be north of $4 a gallon for sure this spring/summer so say $5

Yes, two out of three will be buying passes - have to, we are second homeowners.

Yup same here. But most of my non mammoth stakeholders friends they are saying today NO if the price doesn't go down or just a plain I should never have bought this year. (But who is happy with this season anyways.)
I'm sure it a cycle for MMSA. They will have lower then normal MVP buyers then they will open it up again after a good season and the people will come back.

My wife and I are non-local, Mammoth home owners, so we're committed. We've have had the pass since they started MVP and we'll do it again, barring significant change in cost.

Pretty much no question in my mind- I will be buying again. 19 days so far, coming from San Diego. Luckily I have a company car that pays my fuel bill.

Of course they'll rollover your passcash. You won't lose it.

Didn't renew my pass for this year - got tired of the price increases and being treated like a stepchild. Went to Utah instead. While there was just a bit more snow there, it sure was fun to see other resorts and prices are just much more competitive there. At least if your having to ski groomers due to conditions you can ski different groomers every day.

Don't know if I'd get another pass next year - most certainly wouldn't if they raised the price. But I'm also not locked in with ownership there. :D

Price dependent. If it's about the same features at about the same price, we'll up again. If it's more like that recent survey, probably not. We're 2nd homeowners, but there are other places to explore too.

I haven't skied one day on my pass this year, but I do expect to get my days in at some point. The thing about this bad winter is makes me ask myself how much do I really miss my Mammoth trips? For me it's not even about the money. If I don't spend it at Mammoth, I'll just spend it somewhere else. I think the biggest thing that keeps me renewing my pass every year is the amount friends I have that ski Mammoth.
