^^^ It's been a while since I have seen that entire mountain is closed. Must be really bad!!! I know in LA when the front of the storm went through the winds were like a torando was going to happen.

I've been watching the trees swaying outside our terrace window. I'm hoping none of the trees fall. This is one of the strongest wind days I've seen.

We're about to go outside and attempt to do some errands, if we don't get blown away. I'm pretty sure I didn't bring a hat, so I will be wearing my ski helmet (maybe goggles as well!!!).

I wonder what the mountain will be like tomorrow.

A tree fell over on a house somewhere in town a few hours ago, hit the power lines on its way down and ripped the electrical panel out of the side of the house. It started a small fire, but the heavy rain at the time put it out. :o

The breezy conditions have been messing with our power all afternoon.

Drove past Canyon this afternoon and there were 3 snowcats grooming the run down to Canyon. I presume they were farming the 9' pile someone mentioned earlier.

Does anyone know why?

Does anyone want to predict what the snow surface will be tomorrow? Should I bring powder skis or ice skis?

Started out pretty firm. Saddle bowl was first to get good. Everything else
Should start to follow. Some good skiers killing wipe outs and hangmans.
Beautiful day!!

^ I was watching some of those skiers on the cam go through Hangman's. The second or third guy started a mini slide.

Glad you're up here having fun, Freerider!

Not skiing Hangman's (though Mr. skibum did), but having a good time nonetheless. They opened the race course a while ago, and the surface was perfect corn.

West Bowl and Climax were amazingly flat.

The bottom is getting pretty slushy, though. Probably time to head home.

Perfect late april ski day. Mid winter snow in hangers, varmits and paranoids. SKiing down to the bottom was not slow today. What a day! Great weekend ahead..

I'm pretty sure I was first! Then was also the first person in P2. Fun wind buff all day with no one on the hill.

Some words and pics from today, April 27, 2012:

I could hardly believe how much the Mountain had transformed from yesterday's "storm." Certainly not a dusting, much more of a coating. All-in-all the off-piste riding off the top was smooth, creamy and A LOT of fun.
