Postby dsmith478 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 4:04 pm

Yo Yo...My name is Drew from Nashville TN. I was just hired to work as a demo technician...Super excited, and wanted to know what kind of skis/ snowboards they have in the demo center, and who else I would be working with in the Canyon lodge with me. Also, where would the best place to live in the employee housing be?

Welcome to the team! You're definitely going to have a good time. Best place for employee housing would probably be the Chutes. It is the most expensive but is your only option if you want your own room.

Hey, Drew! I think I'll be working in Canyon Lodge as well, in the rental department if I'm correct. I start December 10th. When do you start?

And does anyone else have experience w/ the other apartment complexes?

snowgoose is okay - only if you get the 2 bed room, otherwise it's crowd and no privacy.

Put it this way, if your a picky person and like your privacy do not do employee housing you will be frustrated and over it. I lived in the chutes for a month and had to leave. Although you get your own "room" ( more like a glorified closet, ive seen jail cells bigger) you live with 5 other dudes, and live in a place that everyone treats like a hotel. You will have random people coming in and out, it will be loud at times, and youll be roomed with 18 an 19 year olds as well as sometimes a person in their mid-forties. Staff can and WILL go through your stuff at whatever times they please, rooms were searched due to pot being "smelt" when there was no smell of it anywhere. You will soon meet laurie and bonnie, who are the biggest nazis when it comes to "their" properties, I was asked in the most arrogant attitude ever what I was "doing in there" when she came to look through the rooms and I lived and payed rent there. HA. I was told by laurie in her own words, " I like to run my places like a prison", so keep that in mind. You MUST move your car when it snows or else they tow it, so on snow days expect to move your car for the day while at work, and during busy times it is not easy finding an open spot at park n ride lot. The only good thing I would say employee housing is good for is for someone in the process of looking for a place, or someone that is only planning on staying short term, since no lease is needed its easy to stay there while looking for another room. It deff is not a good long term living situation. You can find rooms for wayyy cheaper that are a much better option.

the chutes is expensive and does get loud but you gotta remember this place is a party... you do get your own room so you can always have you own privacy but it does get hectic using the shower and stuff. i met a lot of great people living there and had a great time but the paychecks i got were weak for working so hard.

closest place to the village as well   :y: :mooning:
