As a liftie and possibly not getting 40 hours /wk, has anybody worked a second job to make sure they have spending money? It may interfere with riding, but could be worth it to have some extra cash...

If you live in employee housing you'll be spending from $270 (Lee Lodge) to $630 (chutes/sherwins) a month for rent. This includes utilities (no internet though). Food is probably a nit more expensive in mammoth than it is wherever you're from. Expect 30-35 hours/week, more over xmas to new years (everyone works at least 6 days). You should start at $9.80/hour, that's $295-$350 pre taxes. If you live in employee housing they take rent straight out of your check every week.
Don't do it in the park.

I usually worked 39 to 40 hours a week as a liftie last year. Just trade with people for early start, you can usually stay until closing because people are always making up excuses so they can go home early, especially near the end of the season. Working a second job will mean you have no time to relax or go spend your days off on the mountain at all.

Unless you get a night job, but that cuts into your drinking time

they will not hire you on a supervisor they are all returning this year you have to start from the bottom and work your way up work hard and the will recognise that... first just and operator, then a lead, then maybe a supervisor after a couple years... harder you work might help out on how fast... but there is some poeple that have been here for 3-4 years in lift crew ahead of you

they start out at 9.80 then if you get promoted to lead its 10.00 and after a mid season review you could go up to 10.20 or maybe 10.40
